“The entertainment you choose for your wedding/event is responsible for 80% of the event’s success and the memories you will have for the rest of your life,” writes Martha Stewart

Your choice of entertainer is an insurance policy against bad memories of a disappointing occasion.

Why do some Disc Jockey’s have cheap prices for their services?

  • BOTTOM LINE: DJs price them selves based on the value of their service. That is why many have said “You get what you pay for

  • They don’t offer all of the services a true professional disc jockey should. This means, home stereo equipment, a limited music library, no back-up equipment, little or no advance planning and little or no coordination, which can lead to major problems for a Wedding Reception, Corporate Event, Private Party, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or for that matter, any special event.

  • Most “DJ’s” have absolutely no training. They figure if they can play a CD, and they can run what is probably one of the biggest parties/special event you have ever given, or one of the most important days of your life, YOUR WEDDING OR EVENT. Few DJ’s realize that the success or failure of your event lies completely in their hands. If they mess up, or at best, give their typical “average DJ” performance, what do they have to lose?

  • Many charge low rates in order to get every job that comes their way, then if a higher priced job comes there way, they will cancel with you, or they may even sub-contract out your event to part timers whose experience and quality may be even worse.

  • If your special event is a Wedding Reception, Corporate Event, Private Party, or Bar/Bat Mitzvah your concerns and questions about the DJ you hire, should go far above just the music. It takes training, experience, and expertise, to coordinate & sequence the special events, program & mix the music, and …. entertain your guests. It takes experience to lead your event with just the right finesse. Your investment in entertainment and coordination is the most crucial one in regard to the success of your event. If magical memories are what you are looking for …. hire the best DJ entertainer you can afford.

  • BOTTOM LINE: DJs price them selves based on the value of their service. That is why many have said “You get what you pay for”

Why not rent a below average grade PA system and carry out the function yourself for about $750 – $950 to save money? Consider the following:

  • You will not have an “Emcee” (To Make Announcements, Run Activities…): The #1 fear in America is PUBLIC SPEAKING, so no one wants to volunteer to do this.

  • You will not have a DJ (& his experience) to help your event “Flow Smoothly”

  • You will need to rent all the equipment, lighting, music… (which is very expensive and time consuming): You will also need to take hours to learn how to use it all.

  • You will need to do all of the set-up and take down of the equipment (Which no one wants to do, especially at the end of the event)

  • You will not have the DJ (& his experience) to “Read The Crowd” AND “Filter” All of the music requests from the guests

  • You will not have the DJ to know how to “Quickly Resolve” possible equipment emergencies/malfunctions…

  • The sound of an Ipod is not clear when amplified, compared to a professional DJ system.

  • You will not have the DJs personality to interact with the guests to keep them from getting bored.

  • PEACE OF MIND: A Professional DJ will take all the stress away from you so you don’t have to worry.

Consider the value of your entertainment and ask yourself “What is ‘peace of mind’ worth?

  • If you pay $15,000 dollars for a 4-hour reception and your guests leave 1 hour early because they don’t like the DJ, you lose $3750.

  • A Professional DJ provides the positive experience for your party. Skillfully selected and played music will add the important “feel good” element that helps everyone interact, rekindle relationships faded by time away and form new friendships.

  • Music is relaxing, exciting, romantic, and inspirational. Dancing keeps everyone at your event longer and contributes greatly to the enjoyment of your guests.

  • 37% of your total event budget goes toward the reception hall & catering. 8% of your guests will remember the food they ate.

  • 5% of your total event budget goes toward the entertainment. 81% of your guests will remember the entertainment at your event. Whether good or bad.

  • 24 – average number of hours a professional DJ/entertainer will work to meet with you, research, prepare and perform at your event

After Your Event:

  • 72% of all brides, grooms & event planners surveyed after their event said they would have spent more time choosing their reception entertainment.

  • 98% of all brides, grooms & event planners surveyed after their event said they would have spent more of their budget on the entertainment.

  • 78% of all brides, grooms & event planners surveyed after their event said they should have made the entertainment their highest priority.

  • 81% of guests said what they remember most about an event is the entertainment.

  • 65% of all couples that chose a band to entertain at their wedding said, if they had it to do over again, they would have chosen a disc jockey.
